Monique Pua Mata wins the final stage of the La Ruta de los Conquistadores 2012 and also claimed an overall victory at the race
Monique Pua Mata continuous her tremendous form at the La Ruta de los Conquistadores 2012 as she stormed across the finish-line during the final stage of the race.
Pua took a total time of 2 hours, 6 minutes and 37 seconds to complete the 70 kilometre chase to Limon and bagged her third consecutive stage victory at the race.
British Cyclist, Samantha Philipps finished 11 minute and 5 seconds behind at the second position with Cinthya Coto Elizondo, Ligia Madrigal Moya and Cristine De Mezerville claiming the next three positions respectively.
Montoya is currently enjoying a splendid form and claimed all the three stages of the race which helped him in registering an overall victory at the event.
"It's my second time winning La Ruta," she briefed to Cyclingnews.
"After the first time, I tried again and got second place twice. The third time was the charm, and I won. It's so awesome to win".
"I heard people out there screaming my name. It's a phenomenal race. I think everyone should come and challenge themselves. It's such a unique experience".
Sonya Looney, Yessenia Villalta, Ariadna Gutierrez Arzaluz, Rocío Monge and Carolina Viquez ALpizar occupied the next five positions in the respective order.
Monique Pua Mata claimed an easy overall victory at the race after the final general classification as she stood at the top podium position and celebrated an important win of his career while Ligia Madrigal Moya securing the second spot.
Likewise, Enrique Artavia Cedeno wins the men’s category of the event with Federico Ramirez Mendez, Todd Wells, Alex Grant and Dennis Manuel Porras Murillo occupying the next four positions in the respective order.
"I knew it would be hard from the start. As soon as they said go, it was like a full on 'cross race, with puddles and chaos," said Grant.
"It finally settled down after awhile, but those Economy Rent A Car guys started attacking," he concluded.
Enrique Artavia Cedeno bagged an overall victory at the race after his exceptional performance throughout the race while Alex Grant and Dennis Manuel Porras Murillo securing the second and the third positions in the respective order.
