Monisha Kaltenborn believes Sauber will be more competitive in the season ahead – Formula 1 news
Sauber CEO, Monisha Kaltenborn has confidently said that they will be more competitive in the 2012 Formula 1 season ahead as they are working harder on their developments.
Kaltenborn said that she is very pleased with the performance of Sergio Perez who secured an inspiring second podium finish in the Italian Grand Prix and passed Felipe Massa of Ferrari and his teammate, Fernando Alonso.
Furthermore, she said that they are making the best of the efforts so as to keep on bringing the essential upgrades in their car C31 to secure a competitive position in this year’s championship fight.
In addition, she said that they are very much delighted with their team’s progress in the season until now as they have successfully attained the desired results.
“We are working extremely efficiently. The extensive package of upgrades we introduced for the races at Barcelona and Silverstone were successful. Our progress at the race track has met our expectations and calculations in full, which is a major feather
in the cap of our engineers. And there's still more to come from the C31,” said Kaltenborn.
Besides, she said that they are looking forward to come up stronger with some major updates in the remaining races of the current season and are targeting to improve their place in the constructors’ championship as compared to the last year.
She added that the cost factor has always plays a vital role in their development process. Therefore, they are targeting to bring in cost effective advancements in the season ahead in order to keep on enhancing their pace without any trouble.
“We'll be bringing another series of upgrades to the upcoming races in Asia, at the same time as pushing ahead with the development of next year's car, of course. So it's not only a question of the pace of development, but more particularly efficiency,”
she said.
The Swiss team has been considered as the most competent midfield contender in this season and they have surely got the potential to achieve more in the forthcoming races.
