Monitor is black what do u think?

one morning i got up to get on my computer and it was black i could still hear when i click but couldn't see anything i restarted it and i heard the desktop come up do u think i can get this fix is it just a bulb gone bad

check to see if ny one turned durn the brightness on the monitor

Video card, Hook something else up to your monitor. When you unplug and plug it in does anything show up on the screen?  if not could just be the monitor but sounds like your video card.
