Monitor says no signal. When I boot up my computer the Monitor says no signal, The computer lights

Question

When I boot up my computer the Monitor says no signal, The computer lights are on.I turn the power strip off.The computer and Monitor turn off and then I turn the power strip back on and the Monitor and Computer turn on with out a problem.Sometimes I have to do the above 2 or 3 times.This only happens in the morning when I boot up my system.I think its a Computer problem and not a Monitor problem, The same thing happens when I had my old CRT Monitor hooked up.Can you please tell me what the problem is?Thank You
