Monk Costume?

I have to preform a scene from Romeo and Juliet and I'm doing one from Friar Lawrence. Friar Lawrence wears one of those monk looking robes but I have know idea were I'm going to find something like that. I was thinking of a brown bathrobe which would probably look okay but I can't find one and I'm not going to pay 40.00 dolars for a monk costume I'm going to wear once or a crazy amount for the robe either. My teacher said just to use a sheet and make it into a kind of robe thing but I do not know how that will look. Does anyone have any ideas???

i would go with the brown or black sheet and somehow make it or get your teacher or whoever to sew it into a robe or something.

since its for a class and you don't ant to shell out any cash go with the bathrobe, or contact a local theatre company and see if they have one you can rent.
