Swansea City captain, Garry Monk, could head out of the Liberty Stadium in January, if http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Michael-c25261 Laudrup does not involve him more in his future plans for the club.
The 33-year old revealed that he was hampered by injuries over the last couple of months, but was now in perfect shape to represent his team.
However, given his manager does not give him any significant role in the team, he might be forced into thinking about his options in January.
The English International made a comeback on Tuesday in a Capital One Cup fixture after recovering from a back injury. He netted home a late goal to help the Swans edge Crawley Town 3-2 and book their place in the fourth round of the competition.
Monk has represented the Welsh club at every level en route to their promotion from the Football League Two to the Premier League.
All in all, he has capped 241 appearances for Swansea, which includes just one for this season.
However, lately, the defender has lost favour of his manager, who prefers to start him from the bench.
If the current situation remains, Monk unravelled that he will be forced into contemplating making a switch in January.
He underscored that he would prefer not to part ways with Swansea, if he gets reasonable representation in Laudrup’s plans, and was optimistic of playing an effective part in helping the club achieve their targets this term.
“I've said all along I don't want to leave. Hopefully I can force my way into the manager's plans in some capacity in the near future. If not, I'll assess it again,” he is reported to have said.
“If I get a couple of weeks' training under my belt and it looks like I've got absolutely no chance, I'll have to have a look at it. January is the realistic time to move if I'm not involved at all, but hopefully I will be.”
Laudrup is already wary that he could lose out the services of the defender in January, and has already earmarked Ashley Williams as his successor for the post of captaincy.
