Swansea City defender, Garry Monk revealed that he had no plans of parting ways with the Welsh club despite his current understudy status at the Liberty Stadium, and vowed to keep on fighting in order to reclaim his place in the starting line-up.
The 33-year old, who has represented the Swans at every level on their way up to the top division, has recently been linked with a move to Bristol City, where he is expected to get more first team action.
Even though the defender was a regular member of the starting eleven under former manager Brendan Rodgers during the 2010/11 season, he remained a second-choice option during the previous term behind Ashley Williams and Steven Caulker.

While talking to reporters, he said: “I’ve made it quite clear that this is the club I want to be at. Obviously games and playing time dictates that sort of decision, but it won’t come from me, it’s up to the manager whether he wants me to be here or not.”
Following the completion of Caulker’s season long loan deal with Swansea, Laudrup signed Chico Flores from Genoa for a 2 million pounds transfer fee as a replacement for the Spurs player. The defender is expected to be a part of the Dane’s first-team plans
this coming season.

He also claimed that he was experiencing no fitness concerns whatsoever, and was aware of his strengths and limitations.
