Is it legal to own a monkey in New York.. specifically Syracuse?

Would you need a monkey license and where would you purchase one?

How old would you have to be to own a monkey or recieve a licence to own one?

Check with the USDA United States Dept of Agriculture. They have a free publication of breeders and can also tell you about Federal permits. Local permits will depend on your city, county.

NY is one of 19 states than completely ban private possession of nonhuman primates(monkeys). There is no permit that you could get that would make it legal to own a monkey in the state on NY.
