Monkeys in Canada?

Weird question:

Can you own a pet monkey in Canada? I'm moving to the States later, and maybe India after that, but I want to be able to keep the monkey with me while I get the money for my move. I am in love with exotic animals. What types of monkeys COULD be kept in Canada without dieing?

If you genuinely love exotic animals, and actually took the time to learn and respect them, you would not be doing something like considering pulling one out of its natural habitat to live in your house with you. So aside from forcing it to live in an unatural and unsatisfactory environment, you are also contributing to the endangerment of primate species.

All monkeys are extremely intelligent animals. You will need to spend almost all of the day with it, just interacting to keep it from getting bored. ALL monkeys are -extremely- dangerous as well. Once they reach puberty, they cna even become unpredictable. They are NOT tamable at all! A "pet" monkey is just as likely to take your hand clean off as a wild monkey.

They are also HIGHLY expensive. Anyone who successfully keeps wild animals does so in a zoo-like habitat. Which means you will need to have multiple monkeys, andbuild a very large and tall enclosure for them. They are not pets, as I have said, and they will NOT be happy or even safe in your home or in a little cage.

And in most airlines, it's a hassel to even travel with a rabbit, or a small non-poisonous snake. I guarantee you will have a hard time getting accepted across countries with a potentially lethal monkey.

Why would u want a monkey? they fling poo. sure some of em can b sweet but they all hide a bad side. get a puppy! ^^

monkeys are not to be kept as pets they are wild animals, and desearve to live in the wild.
