Question:

Mono-filament Fishing Leaders?

by  |  earlier

Years ago, I used to be able to buy packages of leaders with the swivels on both ends so they didn't have to be made from scratch.

They had 2 loops spaced apart already made into them for hooks to be easily attached.

Can you provide me with the names of any companies that currently manufacture this type of item?

Thank you.

  1. I have not seen any of those in ages, but do know what you are talking about.

Much cheaper and will be able to use any kind of line or line strength you want by learning to tie your own.

Try using a palomer or a surgeon's loop, if you do not know how to tie these knots go here.

Practice and you will get it; the palomer knot I use almost every where even tying hooks right on the line, real strong knot and simple knot to tie.

    Good Luck

  2. the cost for labor is too expensive to be competitive making these now aspecially with all the specialty swivels and colors and lines and flourocarbon. Why would anyone want the cheapest line and the cheapest swivel made by (probably) a kid who can still see. I say this realizing you don't want to make your own but you should and use the best line with the right terminal tackle. Or pay a guy behind the counter at a fishing store to make them.
