Its really an evil game.  Its so darn fun and yet so horrible!

Monopoly is a fun game for i ask my parents if they will play everynight i think it helps you in 3 ways

1)you learn how to manage properties

2)you learn how to be competitive but not in a nasty way

3)you have fun and spend time with people you know

i won a monoply tournament because i got so addicted to the game i couldn't help myself not to try and play and i met new people in the process

Lionheart gave a great answer! I started playing very young and after i got older, i began applying the same principles in life--i bought every piece of property i could (as in REAL houses) and by doing so, i was able to retire at 41 and am living off my rental income. I owe much of my success to the game of monopoly.

It seems quite fun when you're playing it at first, but then, as you get like houses and money, people start to become competitive and agitating (in fact, they become a pain).

People don't take it for fun anymore as they gradually got richer, they sometimes don't even realise that it's all a simple board game. Also, it's quite hard to quit, you kind of keep on playing it although you're bored (but you won't be if you're winning). I think it's because people like being richer than others when it comes to money.

Overall, I'd say monopoly's quite fun.
