Monster Yamaha Tech3 rider Cal Crutchlow confident for remainder of 2011 MotoGP season – MotoGP news
Monster Yamaha Tech3 rider Cal Crutchlow is determined to realign his rookie MotoGP season at Brno, Czech Republic.
The 11th MotoGP event, Cardion AB Grand Prix can prove a turning point for him to put an end to his previous bad results.
Crutchlow said, “I am looking forward to the second half of the season as some of the tracks that are coming up I know and I've done well on before, including Brno. Almost all the circuits in the first half of the season were new for me and I always had
to learn from zero.”
The most unfortunate run for the British rider was his home event at Silverstone. Crutchlow crashed during the qualifying practice session and sustained a fractured collarbone. The unpleasant injury held him off from racing at the British GP.
However, he returned to at Assen with lingering pain but managed to collect some points for his team. In the previous four rounds, he has only collected four points. Presently Cal stands at 15th position on the 2011 World Championship points table.
The Brit said, “But that's all part of the learning experience and I'm concentrating solely on getting a good result this weekend and putting the bad luck behind me. The last few races have been quite difficult, but I showed at the start of the season my
potential with some strong performances.”
Recalling his earlier performance in the 2011 season, he said he is determined to score good results at the venue where he has collected a podium and pole seat in the World Superbike Championship event.
Compared to previous tracks, though he had the ability to quickly master new circuits but still he was impeded by the new layouts. In the next half of the season, the circuits are more familiar for the Brit as he has experienced in WSBK events.
With good experience in the past at Brno, he is highly motivated to score good results for his Tech3 team. After spending summer break with his family now he feels fully fit to race hard and good.
