Monster Yamaha Tech3 rider Cal Crutchlow geared up for Twin Ring Motegi – MotoGP news
Monster Yamaha Tech3 rider Cal Crutchlow is all geared up to race at the Twin Ring Motegi circuit despite the fact that he has no past experience of the venue.
MotoGP will resume its 15th event, Grand Prix of Japan after a lot of nuclear radiation concerns. After a shocking earthquake and tsunami disaster earlier in 2011, the Japanese event was scheduled for late in the season. Before
the postponement, the event was due to take place in April.
Crutchlow said, “I am really looking forward to going to Japan this weekend and I feel full of confidence after the good result at the Motorland Aragon. Fighting for almost the whole race with a rider of the calibre of Valentino Rossi was really good for
my experience, and I learnt a lot that will help me for the future.”
The Japanese circuit is a new venue for the British rookie in the MotoGP class. The Brit has performed well on previous tracks that he had no prior experience on. Therefore, he expects the same to from the Motegi circuit as well.
Eventually, the season is heading in favour of the British rider as he has prior experience about the last three venues on the MotoGP calendar. In past, he has raced on Phillip Island, Sepang and Valencia circuits. With this event, he feels that he can strive
for top-ten finishes by the end of the season.
Crutchlow added, “It is an honour for me to represent Yamaha in the Japanese Grand Prix, and after a difficult period following the earthquake, I am looking forward to being able to show my support to the Japanese people and everyone connected to Yamaha
this weekend.”
The World Supersport Champion, Crutchlow had a marvellous race fight with veteran Valentino Rossi during the Motorland Aragon event. While Rossi was testing his new aluminium frame and struggling with excessive tyre wear, Crutchlow rode well to defend his
position across the line.
The Tech3 rookie was also suffering from tyre wear but still he managed to stay fast ahead of Rossi. Currently, the Brit stands at 13th position in the MotoGP world championship points’ table.
