Monster Yamaha Tech3 rider Cal Crutchlow struggles to improve his M1 at Brno – MotoGP news
Monster Yamaha Tech3 rider Cal Crutchlow spent the MotoGP test at Brno, Czech Republic improving the front setup of his M1.
It has been a major problem in his performance during the last rounds.
As seen in Sunday’s race at Brno, Cal Crutchlow crashed after pushing hard in the race. Starting the race from 11th place on the grid was a hard fight to achieve good results, but in pursuit of it, he faced an incident.
Crutchlow said, “This morning we didn't change the bike and I just went out and did some laps and I was doing low 58s on old tires, so that makes me feel even more disappointed with the crash in the race yesterday because that pace would have put me on for
a good result.”
The Brit said, “The front-end could still be better but we've definitely been working in the right direction and we're trying to figure out how we can make more improvements. But this process isn't just about working on making the bike better.”
The Brit also tried to change his riding style which could help him improve the feel aboard. It was seen that Crutchlow kept his focus to get more compatible with his Tech3 M1.
Another step ahead was that he also managed to brake better and later with more stability. On some laps, he also rode with his original style to compare between both. He claimed that he has learnt a lot from the test session and the lesson is valuable for
the next races.
An issue he shared was that he is trying to step off brake a little earlier in terms to keep the pace up in the corners. The next aspect for him is to get a better control of brakes in order to stay fast in corners.
He also expressed his gratefulness for his crew at Tech3 garage which helped him to improve in many areas with a strong technical support. He is hopeful of putting up a confident show at the upcoming Indianapolis event.
