Monster Yamaha Tech3 rider Colin Edwards conducts positive test at Brno – MotoGP news
Monster Yamaha Tech3 rider Colin Edwards conducted a positive MotoGP test at Brno following the Cardion AB GP.
The American veteran was 12th in the final time sheet for the day at Brno. Edwards also tried the new Bridgestone tyres to test the 2012 slicks. Texan Tornado completed 44 laps in the complete session, while testing his Tech3 M1
and collecting feedback for his squad and Bridgestone.
Edwards said, “Today was just about getting some information for Bridgestone and Yamaha. The new tires I tested seemed to be a good step in the right direction, so they've got a lot of information and feedback to analyze and digest now. I'm happy with the
direction Bridgestone is going with the rear tire.”
The Texan rider qualified for eighth position in Sunday’s race after fighting hard with his rivals. Edwards made an impressive run and tried to close on the Ducati Team rider Nicky Hayden.
Edwards said, “I tried two today, and both give you a lot more security. There's not so much risk involved in the first couple of laps, so credit to Bridgestone because they have listened to our comments this season and taken action to improve the tires
and I'm really pleased.”
The American rider also tested some new electronics on his M1 which provided better options for the race setup. After a busy test session, he will be heading home and gather himself for the upcoming home event at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.
After Laguna Seca, the Indy GP will be a second home event for the American riders in MotoGP including Edwards, Nicky Hayden and Ben Spies.
The Tech3 American rider is excited and fully motivated to race at the IMS and deliver a stunning performance for his home crowd.
Colin Edwards ranks ninth in the MotoGP world championship this season, just one point behind Marco Simoncelli. The 12th MotoGP round can possibly see him go up in the championship.
