Monster Yamaha Tech3 rider Colin Edwards focussed for German Grand Prix – MotoGP news
Monster Yamaha Tech3 rider Colin Edwards is focused to perform at the upcoming MotoGP event, the eni Motorrad Grand Prix Deutschland.
The ninth MotoGP event will be held at Sachsenring, Germany on July 17, 2011.
Edwards said, “The last two races haven't been that fantastic but we can point to a bad tyre choice in both for that. We've got to take some responsibility for that but sometimes you roll the dice and gamble but the result doesn't go your way.”
The American veteran is presently seated at the ninth place in the MotoGP 2011 championship standings between both San Carlo Honda Gresini riders. His teammate Cal Crutchlow is down at 14th place in table.
Edwards further said, “That's all behind me now and I'm just concentrating 100 per cent on getting a good result in Germany this weekend. This track is pretty special with so many left-hand turns but our chassis is much better than last year, so I'm sure
the bike will be easier to ride in the tight and twisty sections.”
Edwards has availed the two-week break after the Mugello round to heal his injures and gain more strength than the last two events. After a crash in the QP session for the Catalunya GP, he came back at Silverstone and earned a third place on the podium with
a paining collarbone.
Surviving through pain in the last two rounds, Assen and Mugello, his muscles around ribs are now more strengthened than before. Further assessments of recovery will be made after the race weekend resumes with the practice sessions of the German Grand Prix.
Edwards is more positive about his physical condition than the last Italian GP. The German GP track itself puts a lot of physical and technical stress on riders and it is yet to be seen how the race weekend proceeds.
The American Tech3 rider has enjoyed racing at Sachsenring throughout his race career, except for the 2003 incident.
Edwards says he is always pleased to ride in front of the German fans that are a big support for MotoGP riders and passionate for premier class racing.
The Tech3 team is looking forward to a good race event for fans, themselves and move to Edwards’ home event, the Red Bull US Grand Prix due to take place at Laguna Seca, California.
