Montain bike seat help ?

today i was riding my bike and i jump of the hill and my seat bent to the left so i took the seat off and tryed to fix it but it wont bend back

plzz help best answer gets 10 pts

  1. You probably will need a new seat or post, whichever broke. Even if you can fix it I wouldn't trust it because now it's weaker than it was before.

    If the bent part is steel, you can probably bend it back if you can figure out how to apply enough leverage to it.  If a magnet will stick to the piece it is steel.  

    If a magnet will not stick, the piece is aluminum or some type of aluminum alloy.  Unfortunately, you won't be able to bend it back and use it.  If you are actually able to bend the piece it will be weakened and will break - probably sooner than later.

  4. Yes you'll likely need a new seat, and since that's the case, I'd beat the old one with a hammer as best I could and hope for the best.  Maybe it will work?
