We just decided to go here for our honeymoon. We have never been and i have no idea what to expect. We're a young couple 23years old but we want something romantic nice and crazy. We also read plenty of bad reviews and even though there are plenty good ones the bad ones just see to catch my eye more. I am so excited but id like some help with what to expect. Where are the good hotels and what should we visit. We are looking to do an all inclusive I just really wanted some recommendations of a good one!!! Thank you!!!!!

  1. Thats where we are going!!!! we are staying at Rose Hall. They are on the beach have a huge water park and recently remodeled. We are also 23!! They also can be all inclusive is you want them to be.

here is the link to their website

    http://www.rosehallresort.com/?src=ppc_g...

  2. dont listen to bad reviews!

i went and it was fabulous and the ppl were really friendly.

i recommend couples.com--its a chain of resorts (4) in jamaica. It's couples only and all inclusive. They have four resorts and i think one is in montego bay although i suggest one of the two couples resorts in negril... the beach is more beautiful! Go into the message boards in their website for reviews of each resort.

Also a lot of activities are included in your stay so that you dont even have to leave the resort to have a great time!

  3. Jamaica is a wonderful place!

We took our family there for spring break, we stayed in a inexpensive hotel in Negril (we didn't want the tourist feel), we did so much. Be sure you take a day and go to Dunn River Falls, it was wonderful and relaxing. Also check out Dolphin Cove. Be sure you go to Ricks cafe in Negril.

One thing we made sure was that we never went anywhere by ourselves & we kept our girls close by! We had a great driver that made us feel very safe. He also took us to a lot of local places. The people are very friendly!

Enjoy each other and the WONDERFUL Sunsets!

  4. I have heard that Sandals resort is very nice.  We only drove by it on our tour bus going to Margaritaville which we were in Jamaica on our cruise.

It is a poor country so they do try to force you to buy stuff, so be firm with them and just say no or ignore them.

I have heard that it is best to stay on the resorts or in large groups if you do go out into the country.  I have heard of people being offered drugs.  My husband's friend, they tried pulling her into a storage shed, but she got lucky and got away.

Alway negotiate your price before buying or getting a service done, like hair braiding.  So that way they aren't ripping you off or won't be caught without having enough money.

Another recommendation that I have is Cozumel, Mexico, it  is very pretty there, and they do have resorts there as well.  It was much safer there.

Good luck with whatever you decided and keep alert if you do go to Jamaica.

  5. Hi. I'm a Jamaican who used to live in Montego Bay until I got married last year and moved. We do get a bad rap because of the crime, but if you're going to stay at an all-inclusive you should be perfectly fine.

I've never stayed in an All-Inclusive in Montego Bay, but I honeymooned at Sandals Whitehouse European Village & Spa (Jamaica's South Coast) and enjoyed it so much, I feel confident to recommend any of the Sandals resorts to you.  There are two or three in Montego Bay - I can think of Sandals Inn (which is pretty small but relatively close to town if you feel like walking) and Sandals Montego Bay.  Bigger, a bit farther out of town.

If you aren't tied down to Montego Bay, why not think of Negril?  Many all-inclusives to choose from (including Sandals Negril).  There's also Hedonism II which is WILD and Grand Lido.  You can also choose from a couple of Superclubs resorts (Couples Negril, Swept Away, Breezes).

    Have fun!

  6. My wife and I stayed at Couples Ocho Rios in Jamaica for our honeymoon 5 years ago. I know that's not Montego bay....

We really enjoyed our stay. Couples is an all inclusive resort. They only allow couples, no singles, no children. I'm pretty sure they have one in Montego bay.

If I had it to do over again I would only do the stuff that is offered within (or by) the resort. I wouldn't go into town at all! The crime is rampant there. And the people at the shops know the value of a dollar. You will not get any deals, trust me!

We went to Jimmy Buffet's Marguritaville one night and I think someone slipped something in my drink. We were lucky my wife was able to get us back to the resort!

    Jamaica is absolutely gorgeous!

The beach at the resort had a bar. We loved just swimming in the beautiful Carribean water and drinking the free drinks!
