Montego Bay to Ochos Rios, Jamaica

Question

I'm planning a trip to Jamaica with a friend and the hotel we're looking to stay at is right near Montego Bay. And there's an dinner cruise in Ochos Rios.

So about how long would it take to get from Montego Bay to Ochos Rios in Jamaica?

40 - 60 minutes. Nice ride there.

You will not have a problem and the road is in excellent condition.

I have traveled the road from MoBay to Ochi a few times. People may tell you 45 min to an  hour but I have never arrived in that time. I think it takes more like an hour and a half to 2 hours. I would hire a private driver. Make sure they have the red tags. This means they are a licensed taxi driver. You should always agree on a price before getting in the cab. Make sure the price agreed upon is for round trip. If I were you I'd plan on spending the entire day in Ochi.

Seventy miles but this is not a fast highway ride. You are looking at an our and a half or more. I have not been to Jamaica (bought the tickets but could not go).  However, I have done a lot of research on it. Seems to me that you are wasting a lot of time on the road by taking that length both ways for a dinner cruise. A better idea would be to go to Ocho in the morning, spend the day on the beach and find a small hotel that will let you use their facilities to get ready for dinner (many do that). I hope you have considered the IBEROSTAR Rosehall for your resort. It is an all inclusive and I have never been disappointed at an Iberostar. I also have a great travel agent with extremely reasonable prices if you need one.

The road there used to be really bad, but in the last few years have made a lot of improvements to it.

I've been to Jamaicia a couple of times. I never stayed in Montego Bay, but have stayed in Ochos Rios and Negril.

It takes approximately 45mins to an hour to get to Ocho Rios from Montego Bay....I live in Montego Bay.
