Montella believes he would have been sacked if he was the Roma boss, Benedetto reassures fans
Former A.S Roma manager, Vincenzo Montella, believes that the Giallorossi would have sacked him as a manager after the recent start to the season.
The Giallorossi are placed 9th in the league table after having picked up 11 points from eight matches played thus far. Roma are only five points behind Juventus but Montella believes that had he been in the position
of Luis Enrique, the club would have sacked him by now.
The Giallorossi witnessed a poor start to the season and got knocked out of the UEFA Europa League preliminary round against Slovan Bratislava.
Montella said, “I do not think I would have been the best choice for them at the time. I found a major club like Catania who are helping me work well. It was the right choice.”
Montella was appointed as the caretaker manager to replace Claudio Ranieri towards the end of the 2010/11 season. However, the former Fulham star decided against a permanent role and left the club after the season and Enrique was
appointed as the new boss. The new owners wanted to implement a http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Barcelona-c38604 style game at the Stadio Olimpico Rome so they appointed there B team coach of that time to help the club in reaching their goals.
On the other hand, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Roma-c31603 President, Thomas Di Benedetto, has reassured the club fans that the new project is moving forward as planned and they are looking forward to make them a top team.
Benedetto said, “I am honoured to be the President of this assembly, as it’s surprising to see the sheer level of love the Roma fans have. I want to reassure the group that my American associates and UniCredit are working hard
to make this Roma side stronger and more efficient in terms of the squad and technical staff.”
The American owner told in a recent interview that he wants to take the club to new heights and aims to match the strength of English giants, Manchester United and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809. Benedetto took over the ownership from Sensi family
in the summer and have made wholesale changes to the club. The owners have also revealed that they will build a new stadium next season.
