The former head coach of the Catania outfit has gone on to remark on the repercussions of their victory over the runners up of the Serie A of the last year, AC Milan.
Fiorentina have been making all the right kinds of noises during the current Serie A season; and even though they had a few minor hiccups along the way at the start of their campaign, they seem to have recovered well and have now been far more clinical in
front of goal.
It was not exactly the start of the season where the bumps along the road came, but it was after a few matches that the team failed to convert their chances on goal. They were wasteful of all the possession and the creativity that they played with and that
put a few question marks on the future prospects of the club. However, all the premonitions posed during the period of uncertainty for Vincenzo Montella’s men have been laid to rest after their recent performances in the Lega.
Their victory over AC Milan while on their travels has boosted the confidence that the players have in the team and in their abilities and Montella has gone on to remark on the fans who have been supporting the team with great fervour. The former head coach
of Catania remarked that the team would be looking to perform to the best of their abilities in the future as well, but while remarking on the atmosphere surrounding the club, the player stated that they should channel all the energy into positivity.
He was complacent and careful while commenting about any potential target of Champions League football for the upcoming season. He was quoted to have said:
“We are invaded by the enthusiasm of the fans. It is pleasing that the supporters and players are dreaming, but we have to transform all that into positive energy so we can keep on going. It’s true that third place is close by, but so is fifth… The Viola
are showing what they can do and what they want to achieve.”
