Despite being one of the busiest teams in this edition of the Champions League, the former Roma player feels there is still a lot of work before his side is complete.
Fiorentina have made a lot of acquisitions to their squad this season around, and there have also been some departures as well. However, despite the acquisitions made by the Artemio Franchi outfit, their head coach feels that there is still some time left
before he will feel that they are a complete team.
He mentioned that even though he is extremely happy with the players that have made their way into the squad, any player would take their time before adjusting to a new system and furthermore new coaching ideologies of the coach.
When quizzed over his expectations from the season opener against Udinese, Montella went on to comment on his excitement and how he felt about the fixture against Guidolin’s men. He remarked:
“I am very excited, as I was for our Coppa Italia match. This is an important debut and there are a lot of expectations around us, even if the team is not yet complete.”
He further reflected on the need of the players to be able gel together and play as a cohesive unit. Coach Montella was highly appreciative of the club who have improved the atmosphere around the club and he mentioned:
“Not all the players are 100 per cent ready either, but that is why I am eager to see them at work. We need to become a real team, so it takes time for the great new players to gel with the others. I thank the club, above all for how calm they helped us
feel.”
La Viola have snapped up a lot of players this summers and there is a great buzz going around the club and even by many pundits.
Montella has bought in players like http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/David-c10409 Pizzaro.
Francesco Guidolin’s men will be a big test for Vincenzo Montella and he needs to make sure they put in a solid display if they are to continue the positivity surrounding the club.
