Montella vs. Menez, Delio Rossi to stay, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Claudio-Marchisio-c9312 gets extension – Serie A Update
Italian Serie A is entering the last part of the 2010/11 season and the media is going into frenzy. Latest reports indicate that http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Jeremy-Menez-c18345 had a confrontation.
Montella and Menez had a training ground bust-up on April 20, 2011. The tactician was far from happy with the attacker’s attitude, as Menez was upset on being dropped from the squad that took on http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Udinese-Calcio-c40789 in round 32 of Serie A. The Frenchman was left
out of the squad without justification, prompting an angry reaction from the former the former AS Monacno man.
Menez has already been attracting interest from clubs across Europe. Fellow Serie A outfit Juventus are keen to sign the playmaker while Barclays Premier League outfits, Arsenal, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809 and Manchester United have also shown interest in the winger’s signature.
The ever increasing interest from the EPL outfits might be a reason for Montella’s aggression, who doesn’t consider the player a part of La Maggica’s future.
In Sicily, Palermo president Maurizio Zamparini has revealed that Delio Rossi will continue to coach the Aquile for the next season. Rossi was sacked in February this year only to be reinstated again in April.
Under Rossi’s leadership, Palermo have returned to winning ways and are on a three-match unbeaten streak. In their latest encounter, Palermo held AC Milan to a 2-2 draw in the first-leg of Coppa Italia semi-final at Stadio San Siro. While talking to the
media, Zamparini said:
“Certainly he will stay next year. We'll meet at the end of the season. http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Javier-Pastore-c18082, as you know, is unsellable. I would like to keep him another year.”
In Turin meanwhile, Juventus have offered a contract extension to Claudio Marchisio. The midfielder, being a Juventus fan from childhood, was already keen to extend his stay in Turin. The latest contract means the Italian International would be playing for
the perennial giants of Italian football in the next season.
While unveiling his contract extension news, Marchisio told the media:
“I am calm and I hope that it can be resolved soon, hopefully before the end of next season. I would like to avoid spending another year thinking about my contract and not the pitch. I hope to stay. I have to hope while there isn't anything to sign.”
Marchisio is a product of Juve youth academy as he spent most of his childhood training at the club’s facilities.
