Montessori Spontaneous activities?

Does anyone have any ideas to do spontaneously with the kids??? We are going into winter at the moment so we have indoor activities to do. Any ideas??????

  1. Lay down a square (make it big, so the excercise lasts longer)  with colored duct tape (any bright color will do) and get yourself a medium sized bell. Have the kids, one by one, walk the colored square gently holding the bell with one hand.

    If the bell makes a noise while they're walking (and trust me, it will) they lose, and have to give the bell to someone else.

    If they succeed on the first try, have them go a little faster every time they go around the square. It's lots of fun, and it keeps the rest of the class quiet, because they are waiting for the bell to ring.....good luck!
