I made enquiries in some good schools for admission in Montessori for my son who will be 2yrs and 6 mths complete by jun 1. But the schools say he should be between 2yrs 8mths and 3yrs ,only then is he eligible . Which means in my case next yr he would be over aged whereas this yr he is underaged. What do parents like us do? Good schools donot take in admission in between its either Montessori1 or then it is for 1st standard. I'm worried...

  1. By 3 years, do you really mean 2 years and 12 months?  Usually schools look at a 3 year old between the age of 3 years and 3 years 364 days.

Double check what they mean by that age restriction.

  2. approach the schools in the month of jannuary and pay a donation of at least Rs. 20,000.  your problem shall be solved. I did the same with Bishop Cotton School 10 years ago.

  3. Often Montessori schools admit children throughout the year, not just at the beginning of the term, though this is generally based on space availability. Check about availability and inquire about a waiting list until your child is the age they will accept him. Perhaps if you go ahead and pay a deposit or registration fee they will hold his place.
