Montessori teacher salary?

Right now I am a student at the University of Florida, I'm in their early childhood Pro-teach Program(masters program). I've been volunteering in a Montessori classroom for a while now, the teacher has her masters in Montessori Edu from Barry. So with a masters in Early Childhood Education, I was wondering if the salary would be any different if I went for a second masters in Montessori education compared to being certified without a degree. I wasn't sure because Barry is practically the only university that offers a degree in Montessori, so I'm assuming that it's not a common thing to have or might not be recognized any differently than the certification. confusing? can anyone help me?

  1. I remember when I was negotiating a salary with my employer.  Most employers in the US go by a pay schedule provided by AMS.  Graduate-level teachers get a higher pay than BA/BS teachers.  In 2005, I believe the 10 month pay for an elementary teacher with a graduate degree was in the low 40s.  Hope that helps.  Any more questions?  Please visit the website for which I am the volunteer director:  www.usamontessori.org

  2. well here in Canada it doesn,t really matter how many degrees you earn you only make the salary of the one you are using at hte time so if you were in a Montessori setting you would be using your Montessori degree here you would get any where from $12.00 to $22.00 an hour depending on the individual centre. Some are privatly owned some non profit

  3. I believe the NOrth American Montessori Center also offers a Masters degree in Montessori. As for the salary, I don't really know.
