Montessori tuition for a home based program?

I live in Southern Ontario (Orangeville), and I plan to open a home based Montessori program in Sept. I am a certified Montessori teacher, and have all the materials required to operate a full program.

Montessori schools in Southern Ontario range anywhere (in monthly tuition cost) from $650 - $1000/mos for full day 8:30am - 3:30pm. There is one local Montessori school on the edge of town that charges $725. Home daycares in my area charge between $25 - $35 per day.. I would like to charge somewhere in the middle. I was thinking around $575 - $650. For those with Montessori experience, does this sound reasonable?

  1. I went to montessori! (In FL) (3 different ones actually)

  2. I would advise you to base your tuition on what you need in revenue in order to provide a high quality Montessori program. If you base it on daycare prices, your clients will be expecting nothing more than daycare.

Charge on the higher end of the scale. But be sure you provide a program that is respectful of the Montessori principles so that people are getting their money's worth.

Don't devalue the program by charging too little.
