Montevideo or provinces?

I might go to Uruguay, what to see there? Where to go?

I have been twice to Uruguay and actually I didnt like Montevideo much (sorry no offense!) as it is like any other capital city in latin America. However, I did like Colonia de Sacramento (aka Colonia). It is the last Portuguese settlement in Latin America and it is a beautiful cobbled stoned little town. Uruguay has lots of countryside and therefore nice little towns outside Montevideo. If you are going in spring or summer, go to Punta del Este where nice beaches are found.
