I CANNOT give my cats up or split them up. how do i find someone who will take the cats in for a several months then give them back. Or do i contact a boarding place? No idea what to do please help. Moving soon.

  1. The best thing would be to have a friend/family member look after them until you get your own place. If that's not a option, look for a boarding facility who can offer your cats more than just sitting in a cage all day for a month...these places are more expensive than a Vet's office since most Vet's offices keep them in cages (although they do let them out to run around if they have room to do so). "Real" boarding facilities sometimes give cats their own "room" and may offer discounts since you have 3 cats and they may be able to all be housed together. Call around or look on line, most places have websites. Also, go to Petfinder and find local resources in your area (not SPCA or Humane Society) and ask if they can offer you any help, if they are not overloaded with cats @ the time, they may have a free foster person that can help you. Good luck!

  2. Ha - that's how I got one of my cats - a friend asked me to take it in "for a month" and finally decided I could keep it.

Check with your vet and see if they know of a good boarding place.  Check with your friends too.  If you decide to board, go there first and check the place out.  It should be clean, no smell of urine etc.  Be sure to ask how the cats will be exercised and if the three can be together.
