The Senegal international had a torrid season with Turkish giants Fenerbahce and might be willing to make a return to Ligue 1 to play for the French champions
Next season, recently-crowned Ligue 1 champions, Montpellier Herault, will be playing in the Champions League. Though times are exciting for La Paillade faithful, President Louis Nicollin is fully aware of the fact that he has to plunge in the summer transfer
window in order to buy more players.
As Montpellier will be fighting on four fronts, Rene Girard is keen on having a big squad.
If on one hand he is trying his best to retain players like Olivier Giroud, Younes Belhanda and Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa, the Frenchman is also keen on adding more strength to the squad.
According to Turkish sports daily Fanatik, the new French champions are very interested in the profile of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Senegal-c3001 international Issiar Dia. The 24-year-old winger is currently under contract at Fenerbahce.
Gregory Lacombe and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/John-Utaka-c18898,
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Souleymane-Camara-c33845 and Remy Cabella don’t risk injuring themselves.
For Issiar Dia, the 2011/2012 campaign has been a forgettable episode to say the least. The former Nancy star made just 16 appearances for the Turkish giants out of which, he made just six starts and scored just three goals.
Under contract at the Istanbul club until June 2014, the 24-year-old could be tempted by a move to Montpellier Herault where he will have the chance of playing in the UEFA Champions League.
Fenerbahce who recently lost the league title to Galatasaray, will also be willing to let go of the winger for 5 million Euros.
At this price, Montpellier may just shift their gaze as Louis Nicollin might not spending so much money on a player who still has a lot to prove.
However, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Issiar-Dia-c17177 played for Amiens and Nancy Lorraine between 2004 and 2010 so his experience of playing Ligue 1 football might convince Nicollin to make a gamble.
