Montpellier Herault reject LOSC Lille’s approach to Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa – Ligue 1 news
Ligue 1 side, Montpellier Herault defender Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa has been attracting a lot of interest from the top Ligue 1 clubs recently. The 22-year-old midfielder has been an important part of La Paillade since making his debut in 2007.

According to reports from French sports daily L’Equipe, reigning Ligue 1 champions LOSC Lille have failed in their attempt to bring the Bangui-born midfielder to the Stade Metropole. President of MHSC, Louis Nicollin is adamant that he would let go of the
highly-rated defender.
Lille coach Rudi Garcia had earlier this week said that he wanted a defender who had enough versatility to play as a central defender and also as a left back. In response to Garcia’s comments, Nicollin said, “Right now he (Mbiwa) is not going to move too
far left which means that the player will stay.”
The colourful statement given by the MHSC supreme clearly sends a strong signal to Les Dogues who were keen on signing the talented defender. After the arrival of Marko Basa and finalising a permanent deal for Czech international http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/David-Rozehnal-c10594, Rudi Garcia
is still exploring other avenues in order to replenish his squad’s defensive ranks.
With Lille set to feature in the 2011/2012 version of the UEFA Champions League, Rudi Garcia is looking to have a bigger squad at his disposal in order to fight on both European and domestic fronts.
French media claims that Lille’s offer of 4 million Euros for Mbiwa was the main reason why Montpellier did not budge on their stance regarding Mbiwa’s future. A fee in the region of seven million Euros is believed to be enough to make Montpellier let go
of their prized asset.
Mbiwa has so far made 135 appearances for La Paillade and is regarded as one of the most talented young defenders in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/France-c2899. However, as long as Les Dogues are not willing to meet Montpellier’s valuation of Yanga-Mbiwa, the player will stay with the club.
