The Ligue 1 leaders have identified Brazilian striker http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/France-c2899 international striker Olivier Giroud
Uncertainty about the future of Olivier Giroud has forced Montpellier Herault to seek a replacement for the striker. The France international has scored 20 goals in the Ligue 1 for La Paillade and has been instrumental in the club’s push for Championelle
and Champions League football.
A few days back, Giroud denied that he ever said that he will stay with the club if they qualify for the Champions League.
“I never said that if Montpellier qualified for the Champions League, I’ll stay. I challenge anyone to find the tapes. I prefer to concentrate on the end of the season. I do not feel like talking about my future. All in good time! I’m sick that people asked
me about next season. We’ll talk at the end of the season.”
Constantly asked about his future, Giroud is so annoyed that he refuses to talk about it which has further increased the uncertainty. Knowing very well that the player may jump ship when the summer transfer window opens, Montpellier have embarked on a mission
to find a good replacement for the player.
The search has led them to Portuguese Liga. Sports daily, O Jogo claims that the Ligue 1 leaders are keeping tabs on http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Santos-c32532, better known as Lima, a diminutive striker of 28 years.
MHSC have already submitted a proposal to the player. it is rumoured that the former Avai man has been offered a four-year contract and will be given 90,000 Euros a month if he chooses to sign with the club.
Furthermore, the player is not going to be that expensive as his buy-out clause is estimated at just 4.5 million Euros.
The Brazilian is currently the top scorer in La Liga for his team with 9 goals and also scored four goals in Europe this term.
So if Braga fail to qualify for the Champions League, the 28-year-old striker would be keen to move to a club which offers him Champions League football for next season.
