According to L’Equipe, Montpellier Herault could consider letting go of two of their three star players next summer. The likes of Olivier Giroud, Younes Belhanda and Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa could be playing somewhere else next season
Throughout the current campaign, Olivier Giroud, Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa and Younes Belhanda have been the backbone of Montpellier Herault’s rapid rise in the Ligue 1 standings.
Currently, Rene Girard’s men are in second place in the Championnat and chase leaders Paris Saint-Germain by a solitary point. Much of Montpellier’s performances have been due to the great forms of the aforementioned players.
Olivier Giroud is currently the topscorer in Ligue 1 while Younes Belhanda and Yanga-Mbiwa have done extremely well to provide for the Frenchman. However, the trio could be playing their last campaign for La Paillade.
Giroud has already attracted a lot of interest from the likes of Bayern Munich, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arsenal-c38429, Newcastle United and Tottenham while Belhanda and Yanga-Mbiwa also have a lot of suitors waiting for them.
Yanga-Mbiwa is under contract with Montpellier until 2013 and seems to want a change of air. For his and their interest, Montpellier might let go of the defender.
Olivier Giroud’s future on the other hand, relies heavily upon Montpellier’s final position in the Ligue 1 standings. The striker wants to play in the Champions League and might consider staying at the club for another season if his wish is granted through
Montpellier. However, not much can be ascertained right now as the striker’s price could go up if he plays and performs well in the European Championship for http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/France-c2899.
Furthermore, Louis Nicollin, the president of the club, has already said that he will not be a hurdle in Giroud’s way if he chooses to leave the club.
Younes Belhanda on the other hand, is the heart and soul of Montpellier Herault and his departure could seriously unhinge what Rene Girard has built over the years. Loulou would not want the Moroccan leave the club and only a big-money offer would tempt
the side into letting go of the youngster.
Nothing is for sure but it seems pretty clear that the summer transfer window could prove to be an agitated and annoying one for Loulou Nicollin.
