The in-form striker, who scored on his full-debut for France in the 2-1 triumph over Germany recently, has attracted a lot of interest from some of the top European clubs.
The French international has revealed his fondness for the Italian League in a recent statement, where he admitted that he is supporting A.C Milan in the UEFA Champions League. However, the striker insisted that he is in no hurry
to decide about his future.
Newcastle United were reportedly interested in signing the former Grenoble star in the January transfer window, but they signed Pappis Cisse from Freiburg instead. Media reports have also linked the striker with a move to Napoli
and Juventus, as both teams have sent their scouts to monitor the forward’s performances on numerous occasions in the ongoing campaign.
The French, however, commented that it is not the time to think about his future, but also hinted that he would prefer a move to Italy.
While talking to Gazzetta dello Sport, the 25-year-old said:
"They are teams important but now it is too early to decide [my future]. [But] I always follow the big Italian teams."
The player also commended the emerging strength of Italian clubs in the Champions League, though he believes that the Spanish duo still holds the edge.
“They [Italians] are re-emerging as major players in the Champions League, where I see Real Madrid and Barcelona are favoured. But I am also rooting for Milan."
Giroud revealed that love of the game will hold precedence over money when it comes to choosing his future club.
"I'm not interested in money. I like to play for the love of the fans, to see the stadium full and to enjoy myself." Added the Montpellier striker
Giroud has had a phenomenal season with the French side, and is the leading goal-scorer in Ligue 1. The 25-year-old has netted 16 times in 24 appearances for Montpellier.
