Moroccan international Younes Belhanda’s career has taken a whole new dimension since the beginning of the current campaign. La Paillade are currently on top of the league and much of this is due to the amazing form of the young midfielder who has gone from
strength to strength over the course of the campaign.
Naturally, his performances have alerted some of the best European clubs. Though Belhanda is unlikely to leave the Mosson if his team qualifies for the Champions League, the Moroccan’s future does lie beyond Montpellier.
Reports in French and Algerian media now claim that La Paillade have already begun a search of finding a replacement.
25-year-old Abdelmoumene Djabou is one of those players who are currently being considered as Belhanda’s replacement. The Algerian Messi, as he is called, is currently playing for ES Setif. Many Ligue 1 clubs have already scouted the Algerian international
whose profile has risen in the last few months.
According to Algerian sports newspaper Le Buteur, Rene Girard has been impressed with the performances of the attacking midfielder.
Reports further claim that Herault management are already in contact with ESS president Abdelhakim Serrar for a future transfer of the talented midfielder. This season, Djabou has scored 7 goals in 22 appearances and has never hidden his desire of someday
playing in Europe.
Montpellier have been following Djabou steadily over the last few months and according to Buteur, the player is likely to succeed where others have failed.
Qualification for the UEFA Champions League is a priority for the club as it will give them enough money to conduct business in the summer transfer window. Furthermore, even if they manage to keep hold of Belhanda, Montpellier would be looking to have depth
in their squad in order to be consistent both in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/France-c2899 and in Europe.
So far, Djabou has made just one appearance for the national team. However, the midfielder’s performances for ES Setif have improve dramatically in recent months which warrant a move to Ligue 1.
