Montreal Canadiens face a number of questions going into next regular season -NHL Update
It might seem like the Montreal Canadiens might have gotten their act together for the upcoming 2012-2013 National Hockey League (NHL) regular season, but there are still a number of questions that are unanswered by one of hockey’s most celebrated teams.
Without a doubt, the 2011-2012 NHL regular season was by far the worst in franchise history of the club and could have been much better in all regards.
With a new general manager, Marc Bergevin, new head coach, Michel Therrien, and a number of new coaching staff members along with players, Montreal has everything in place to revolutionise their performance.
Probably one of the biggest questions concerning management is whether head coach Michel Therrien has changed from his previous tenure with the team. Therrien was head coach of Montreal previously as well but could not keep his performance consistent.
Also, there are a lot of young players on the team like Carey Price and P.K. Subban and Max Pacioretty, who are definitely some of the best contributors with potential, but will next season be even better for them or not? Montreal Canadiens needs the young
trio to go all out and lead the team since there are barely any veteran leaders to take the team forward.
Some players like Scott Gomez failed to impress along with Rene Bourque. They definitely provide the answer to a lot of the problems the Montreal Canadiens face but next season will be one that needs to be top of the line from them.
These past few seasons, Montreal has taken a beating. Not only in the standings but physically as a team as well. They need to be a team that can stand up to other players and knock them down when needed. With division rivals like Boston Bruins always beating
them down, the Canadiens need to realise the stakes on the line and play accordingly.
Conclusively, Montreal Canadiens have a lot on the line next season and able to make a difference will cost them big for sure because there is only so much money can do for a club and unless there is dedication, there will be no success.
