Montreal Canadiens goalie Carey Price to remain in city to deal with concussion symptoms –NHL Update
It might have been one of the worst seasons in Montreal Canadiens franchise history and it obviously worsened after the team learned about the concussion issues of their superstar goalie, Carey Price. According to latest reports, the young goalie will be
staying in Montreal instead of returning home to deal with his symptoms.
In the start of it all, Carey Price did not play the final game remaining on Montreal’s 2011-2012 National Hockey League (NHL) regular season schedule by terming it nothing serious but after learning that he had been ignoring symptoms for a while, things
could be getting severe.
Price continued to play despite continuous headaches which were later determined to by early signs of a concussion by the team’s medical staff.
“But then it actually got worse, and I told my trainers about it,” Price said “That’s when we decided to play it on the safe side. … I went a good long while without telling anybody about it, that’s basically my blame. My bad.”
The 24-year-old net minder actually that it was due to the continuous travelling and long games that eventually tired him out and caused the headaches but he turned out to be very wrong indeed.
“It was just a matter of being uncomfortable all day. After a day of training, I’d go home and have splitting headaches all day long. Flying was tough, because you know when your ears need a pop? Mine didn’t pop for like three days at a time. It was pretty
miserable,” Price added.
Due to never having had a concussion in the past, Price terms his laziness a result of not knowing what a concussion actually feels like which did not force him to get checked out sooner than later. He is also facing neck problems but luckily, a surgery
requiring fixing the issue is not expected.
Luckily, Carey Price has more than enough time to rest and take it easy as the Montreal Canadiens team is preparing to have a breakthrough season next time around.
Updates on the player’s health are expected in the upcoming days as the medical staff continues to re-evaluate him.
