Montreal Canadiens thrashes Boston Bruins by 4-1 in a humiliating defeat for Bruins

Montreal Canadiens played host to Boston Bruins in another game on Tuesday at the Center Bell.
The game saw both teams safe in the play-off cut in the Eastern Conference but needed important points to finish in a strong position in the Conference.
Bruins were the stronger of the two teams but Canadiens were also in good shape looking for their fifth straight win.
The game started off with Canadiens turning the tables right from the word go and coming up with strong attacks which saw them coming across numerous scoring chances.
The first period saw Canadiens scoring twice.
The second 20 minutes of play were also dominated by Canadiens as they scored two more goals.
Though Bruins scored in the final period, it was just a consolation goal as the game ended with Canadiens winning the game by 4-1 in the end.
Lars Eller of Canadiens was named the star of the game as he scored two goals during the game.
Both teams were very strong on the offence as the game began and it was just a matter of time when we would see the first goal. Both teams had scoring chances right from the start of the proceedings but they were unable to score.
However, Canadiens with the backing of the crowd managed to score in the 9th minute through Lars Eller from a superb backhand shot to get into the lead.
The shots kept on coming from both sides but it was Canadiens who scored once again in the 18th minute through Eller through a well placed flick shot this time.
The period saw a more shots on goal but there were no further goals as the period ended with Canadiens leading by 2-0. During the course of the period, Canadiens made 9 shots on goal while Bruins made 11 shots on goal.
The second period saw Canadiens was almost the same.
However, the defence and offence of Canadiens was much better during the period. Canadiens successfully scored in the 8th minute through Brian Gionta from a decent strike during power play.
Canadiens kept on piling the pressure and scored once again in the 16th minute with James Wisniewski scoring this time through a powerful strike. The period ended with no further goals. During the course of the period, Canadiens made 11 shots
on goal while Bruins made 7 as the period ended with Canadiens leading 4-0.
The final 20 minutes of play didn’t see much as Bruins grabbed a consolation goal in the 14th minute through Milan Lucic.
Though there were more chances for Bruins to score, they didn’t and the game ended with Canadiens winning the game 4-1 in the end.
The final period saw Bruins making 13 shots on goal while Canadiens ended the night making six shots on goal in the final period.
