  1. I'm disappointed. I grew up when Rocket was the greatest and there were only 6 clubs vying for the cup. No one of any merit was traded so you always knew who you were cheering for. I remember seeing all those Stanley Cup flags hanging in the Forum (wow! I bet there are those out there that never saw hockey played at the Forum). I had hoped that this would be the year of the great HABS comeback. NEXT YEAR! Now that is something to look forward to! :o)

  2. I think people overhyped the habs as having already put the Stanley Cup in their pockets when the playoffs first started just because they finished first in the eastern conference.

So now everyone is still in shock and disappointed that we had such a tough time, first against Boston, and then with only one win and then four losses to Philly.

However, I would urge everyone to get out their old Montreal Gazettes and remember that at the beginning of the season, all the experts were picking Montreal as a team that would not even make the playoffs never mind finish first in the east.

I think after the appropriate week of mourning, people will look back and say that Montreal did a pretty good job, we did our best and we just came up against a hot goalie that was making some pretty good saves and had a lotta luck on his side.

Of course, I'm now waiting for the Dallas-Pittsburgh final...with Dallas getting another cup (1999 and 2008)...any takers? lol
