England’s left-arm spinner, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/James-Dermott-Monteith-c65601 Singh Panesar is delighted to be back in the Test team and hopes to be given a chance to prove his worth in the on-going Ashes series at home. However, the cricketer from Luton has warned the English team against complacency
and said that they cannot afford to take the Australians lightly.
The 31-year-old cricketer made his way to international cricket in 2006 when he made his Test debut in http://www.senore.com/Cricket/India-c750. Since then, Panesar has been in and out of the English side, despite a number of match-winning performances, especially on turning tracks.
The left-armer struggled in the initial matches of the current county season but he is now back in form and has been recalled to the Test team for the third match of the Ashes, which starts tomorrow at the Old Trafford, Manchester, where the spinners tend
to get a lot of help.
Panesar revealed that he worked hard with England’s bowling coach, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Peter-Mark-Such-c81817, earlier in the season, which has helped him a lot.
"I kind of struggled early season, I was not getting the action I wanted to get, and then I went away and did a bit of work with http://www.senore.com/Cricket/England-c56013 bowling coach Peter Such on a one-to-one basis to get my action in the right order," said Panesar. "In the Championship
games and in the dry weather we've had I've tried to perform and prepare myself if the call came."
The orthodox spinner picked up three wickets in the recently concluded first-class game against the Kangaroos representing http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Sussex-c852.
England have already taken a healthy lead of 2-0 in the Ashes and have looked a far superior team than the Baggy Greens. However, Panesar rates the Aussies quite high and feels that they are going to come back hard in the battle.
"The England team have put them slightly under pressure, but the Australia team is a very competitive team, they are going to come hard at us," he added.
Taking into account the nature of the pitch at the Old Trafford, chances are high that Panesar will get an opportunity to showcase his magic with the ball.
