England's left-arm spinner, Monty Panesar, has penned a new three year extension with English domestic County Sussex, staying with them til 2015.
The player moved south after ending his 10-year association with http://www.senore.com/Cricket/GP-Swann-c1501.
The left-armer performed exceptionally well for Sussex, playing in all of their 16 matches in the County Championship, taking 69 wickets in the process.
With him extending his stay, Sussex manager http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Mark-Andrew-Robinson-c74518 was thrilled to have a spinner of Monty’s calibre performing for the team.
"http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Robinson-c86348 said.
The 29-year-old spoke about his pleasure of being able to be a part of the young side and hopes that his success with the club outfit will eventually lead him to a recall in the England set-up.
"The club is going through an exciting period and I'm looking forward to helping them challenge for trophies, he said."I aim to repay their faith by continuing my good form in all formats of the game whilst also improving my chances of reclaiming my place
in the England side."
The left-armer will play Sydney Grade Cricket in the English winter following the conclusion of the domestic season and has signed for Randwick Petersham Cricket Club. His decision was influenced by http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Gregory-Richard-John-Matthews-c60809, the former Australian test bowler, under
whom the spinner learned a lot.
Monty was once the leading spinner after good performances in the Ashes series of 2006-07. He replaced http://www.senore.com/Cricket/New-Zealand-c754.
However, his patchy form and the rise of Swann took place simultaneously and although the England board tried to play the duo in tandem for a while, the move did not turn out well for Monty.
With http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Sussex-c852, the spinner has re-invented himself and will certainly eye a place in the Test team for the upcoming
assignments.
