Mood in the camp is exceptional, says http://www.senore.com/Cricket/TT-Bresnan-c2711 – Cricket News Update
England all-rounder, Tim Bresnan, on Tuesday said that the week-long http://www.senore.com/Cricket/KP-Pietersen-c1806 saga, which ended in player’s axing from Lord’s Test squad, has not destabilised the spirit among the squad, insisting that the mood in the camp is exceptional like always.
Speaking to media reporters after a training session at Lord’s, on Tuesday, the 27-year-old http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Yorkshire-c867 all-rounder said that they have put all off the field controversies at the back and are quite focused ahead of the third and final Test against the Proteas,
starting at the home of cricket, on Thursday.
“We met up yesterday, the mood in the camp was exceptional. It's just like it always is,” said Bresnan, who has played 16 Tests for England since debuting in May 2009.
“Always relaxed, quite focused, but we've always got the driving desire to get that win,” he added further.
The England cricket team has had a tough week, post Headingley Test, which saw ECB taking some stern decisions, Kevin Pietersen’s axing from the Lord’s Test squad being at the top.
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/South-Africa-c757 at Lord’s on Thursday.
“It may be an even better side," said the Yorkshireman. “It's one of those things where a talented player has been replaced by another talented player. Why should we miss certain individuals just because they're not available for selection?”.
Bresnan also backed Pietersen’s substitution, Jonny Bairstow to come good, if picked in the final XI on Thursday.
“He is unbelievably talented and I think he can get runs at this level if he gets a start,” said Bresnan adding, "All he needs to do is feel a bit of confidence out there”.
Bairstow, who made his Test debut against West Indies in May this year, was initially overlooked for the South Africa series following his struggles against short-ball, during the home Test series against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/West-Indies-c760, in May-June.
Trailing South Africa 0-1 in the series, England go into the third Test facing a must win situation, as a result otherwise would deprive them of their World No. 1 Test status.
