Moodle cookies

i enrolled in an online course and they emailed me my username and password however when trying to log in it stops me by saying "unfortunalty moodle cookies are not enabled. I've enabled cookies as directed on many "how to enable cookies" websites but it still doesn't work. can anyone help me enable 'moodle cookies' so I can log into my course?
