  1. The only film of the landings themselves are those taken from inside the cockpit.  The television downlink of Neil Armstrong descending the steps was taken by a remote control TV camera.

The flag doesn't "blow;" it's simply being held out by an aluminum rod.

There are no "cinematic" shadows in Apollo photography.  All the illumination effects are consistent with the stated environment.  None of the conspiracy theorists has any credentials or experience in photographic analysis, and their techniques are simply made up -- they fool only gullible laymen.

    EDIT 1:

Why did they not go back?  They did go back -- a total of six successes out of seven attempts.  The program was truncated because of waning public interest; such is the fate of publicly funded programs.

Two U.S. presidents proposed a return to the Moon, only to be met with a rousing round of indifference.  There are plans to return as part of the Constellation Program.

  2. I'm showing my age, but I was working my first job with Grumman Aircraft, in Bethpage, Long Island, NY straight out of high school in 1967 (you do the math as to my age). They got the contract from the government to build the LEM (Lunar Excursion Module) part. My job was an avionics technician. I actually was part of the team that tested the communications equipment in the LEM which is the one that actually landed on the moon, leaving the Command Module in orbit around the moon.

The camera was attached to the outside of the LEM and that's where the famous image of the first step on the moon came from.

In case these people can't figure that part out, how could they have a video from the inside of an exploding car in the movies, etc. I don't think they are going to sacrifice a cameraman holding the camera just for one shot.

I always get a good laugh whenever these 40 year old theories surface, because I was there!

  3. Two astronauts at each landing filmed each other. There is no film of the landing because, as you say, nobody was there to film it. There was a camera mounted on the outside of the lander to film the first astronaut coming down the ladder. It was activated by the astronaut at the top of the ladder pulling a string attached to it. The flag never blows in any of the pictures or films. You have never seen any pictures or films of it blowing, only pictures of it sitting still with wrinkles. Like the picture in the source. Or films of it shaking as the astronauts shook the pole. The shadows are just normal shadows like you see all the time. Nothing wrong with them.

  4. The TV camera was attached to the outside of the LEM unit.

The flag is not blowing, it is wrinkled.

    What cinematic shadows?

I suspect you are quite young and somewhat (no, make that VERY) naive. In the 1960's, there was something called the cold war, where the US and the USSR were trying to best each other all the time. The size of bombs, the speed of fighters aircraft, even a race to be first in space and on the moon; it was a matter of prestige and of showing off that one's political system was better.

The Russians therefore would have had a vested interest in proving that the moon landing was fake if (and I do mean IF) it WAS fake. The Russians had technology that was similar to that of the US, so they had both the means and the reason for proving it was fake, again IF it was fake.

The Russians never said anything. Why? Because of all the properly informed people, they KNEW they were beaten, and that NASA did land two men on the moon.

And now, you come with those weak arguments, with a question that was asked over 12000 times on Yahoo Answer (do the math: this means it was asked on average once every 2 hours) and every time, and with infinite patience, some nice folks tired to instill some common sense by addressing those totally bogus and ill informed "objections"; but now this is getting really, freaking tiring.

Please get an education (the spelling of your question does show you are quite wanting in that area) and quit asking really pointless and ridiculous repeat questions. You are only displaying the extent of your ignorance.

  5. The fact that moon landing conspiracy crackpots, loonies, and idiots intentionally refuse to understand the exceedingly simple concept of "remote control camera" (amongst others) is an excellent demonstration of the fact that such conspiracy theorists have deeply seated psychological needs that are somehow satisfied by spewing pure bullshit. I suggest a research project to determine these psychotic needs and perhaps to find a way to channel them in a more constructive manner.

  6. Wow.  I was wondering why this question hasn't come up yet today.  No conspiracy.  We went there.  EVERY SINGLE conspiracy theory on this has been easily refuted with logic, general science, and physics.  Beside the fact that, during the height of the cold war, does anyone really believe the Soviet Union would have allowed themselves to be "humiliated" in a space-race that was faked?

Just "search answers" for this question, cause it appears daily.

  7. another weird thing is we did it in the 60's or 70's, but china announce they'll do it in 2015 or 2020. why would it take them so much longer than the technology we had way back when. doesn't make much sense.

  8. You're right.  They never landed.  If you hurry you can be the first.

  9. Yeah. and who put the prism at the landing site so scientists can measure the distance of the moon by firing a laser at it?

I think there is a conspiracy about the moon landing conspiracy.

    lol

  10. The camera was set up by the astronauts, The Flag wasn't blowing in the wind. It was and still is at this very moment supported by an arm that extended from the flag pole. The shadows were cast because the sun was shining. I hope this helps your little mind get a handle on the great achievement that we in the USA made.

  11. Yes there is a conspiracy.

It's made up by people like Kaysing, Rene, Sibrel and other government haters and frauds, who want to convince ignorant fools like you* that the landing was fake.

*apparently you are one, because you were not even able to search here on Yahoo. The first result for "moon landing conspiracy" would have been

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Apollo_moon...

which would have covered your question.

  12. Sorry mate we went there and soon satellite HD photo's of the landing sites will be available as several counties prepare to return to the moon and are mapping it.  What is so amazing is that the USA went there with stone age technology compared to what we have today.  I am just suprised that only one mission failed and there were only three astonaults killed in the Apollo program.  When we go back next time it is to stay.

  13. I guess that doing your own research into the science behind these "proofs" is too much work.

By "film man" I assume you mean a photographer.  You're right, there was no film man on the moon.  The photos were taken by the camera that they had mounted in one of the landing legs that was extended out on a boom after landing.

(sigh - why don't people do any reading anymore) The flag didn't wave, it was on a rod running along the top of the flagpole to keep the fabric stretched out, since there is no atmosphere on the moon.

When they twisted the flagpole to seat it firmly in the soil that rod wiggled around a bit and the flag flapped as a result.

Since there is no atmosphere on the moon, sunlight will cast very dark and very sharp shadows - on Earth, shadows are always partly lit by reflected light from objects and from the air itself.

  14. Why did they not go back? Does the USA have any plans to revisit?
