The Class 1 Woodcote Stud EBF Valiant Stakes (Listed Race) (Fillies And Mares) has attracted a line-up of nine three-year and above contestants for the mile race on Friday, 27th July at the Ascot race course. Two among the participants; Thistle Bird and Free Verse have recently credited victories against their names while a well seasoned entry for the race today is, Moone’s My Name.
Intikhab’s filly bagged her seasonal debut on 16th April, 2012 at Windsor over a mile and half a furlong in Standing Sire Whatacaper.Com Handicap.
Paired with jockey, Jim Crowley, the four-year-old grey filly tracked the leaders, and covered considerable ground until there remained two more furlongs to race over. She was the sole contender in the final furlong, and won the race by the margin of four lengths.
Ree’s Rascal settled second with jockey Pat Cosgrave riding while the third spot after the winner was reserved by, Borug.
The Ralph Beckett trained then ended fourth in the Bovis Homes Fillies’ Handicap on 12th May, 2012 at the Ascot race course over a mile. The race was won by Making Eyes who won the race by the margin of just half a length.
Qualifying as the runner-up was, My Queenie, while taking up the third spot behind the winner was, Russian Rave.
After missing the Investec Mile Handicap to the tenth position on 1st June, 2012 at Epsom over a mile and half a furlong, the four-year-old out of mare, The Manx Touch, gained composure for making the most out of the very next chance.
The Baroness Bloodstock & Tweenhills Stud bred won the Bedford Lodge Supporting The Animal Health Trust E B F Fillies’ Handicap on 30th June, 2012 at Newmarket over a mile.
The four-year-old grey filly was prominent almost throughout the race, and her actual challenge began in the final furlong where she edged past the reeling in rival, Love Your Looks, by a head’s margin.
The winner was paired up with jockey, Richard Hughes, and the third spot after the winner was taken by, Russian Rave.
The 8 to 1 entry will be guided through the track by Richard Hughes once more and the duo will take on the mile competition from the second stall today.
