Moonlight Cloud to give Black Caviar a run for her money in the Diamond Jubilee Stakes
Trainer Freddie Head is confident about Moonlight Cloud’s ability to topple Black Caviar’s unbeaten record.

He believes that the four-year-old filly has all the right elements to take on the Peter Moody trained, Black Caviar, in the Group 1 Diamond Jubilee Stakes on 23rd
June, 2012, at Royal Ascot.
The French trainer praises his filly and states that this distance of six furlongs can be achieved, the runner will not go down without a fight, as he stated:
"I think six furlongs on softish ground should be fine for her. I like her very much. She's a tiny filly with a big heart. She always runs well, she's never disappointed me and she was very impressive last time when she won on her comeback and I expect
her to run very well.”
The daughter of Invincible Spirit, out of mare Ventura, scored at Longchamp under the command of jockey, Thierry Jarnet. She defeated, So Long Malpic, by 2 lengths in the Group 3 Prix Du Palais-Royal in June 2012.
The George Strawbridge  owned runner has prior experience of racing at Ascot, since she competed here in the Qipco British Champions Sprint Stakes in October, 2011, but her performance wasn’t  that impressive because she finished in fifth place in
a line-up of sixteen runners.
Regarding this, the trainer stated that it wasn’t her best race, but now she has toned up and is in the best possible form she can be.
Head stated that beating Black Caviar will not be an easy task, but he will not back down from the challenge and welcomes an opportunity to take on a mare that has not been beaten in twenty-one starts.
He stated:
"Black Caviar is going to be a big challenge but that's what racing is for, you have to compete against the best. I never duck any challenge with my horses, and we are trying once again. Black Caviar will need to be at her best to beat her."
Freddie Head does not have any major ground concerns as long as the ground is “on the soft side (of good),” Moonlight Cloud will be good to go.
