Moonrise time is none?

how come sites that list the moon times have some that say none. like for last night.

  1. It rises after the sun in the eastern sky so we do not see it. Does not mean it is not there of course.


  2. Oh, hey, you're right.  It did say that.  And one said none for moon set too.

    DUH!!! (slaps self on forehead.) The moon takes longer than 24 hours to go back to the same spot in the sky.  So some days won't have a moon rise at all.  Look at the rise time for the previous day.  See how close to midnight it is?  So if it rises at 11:45 pm one night, it won't rise again until after midnight of the next day.  It takes about 24 hours PLUS 20 to 50 minutes from one moon rise to the next.

    That having been said, I think this question deserves a star.

  3. Maybe..because..for your particular area...there will be no moon for that night.

    It's kinda like when they list the schedule for the space station...if there's no list....it means the station won't be passing over my area for that night.

    But...keep checking your site schedule...it will be posting a list soon...I'm quite sure.
