Moonwalk In Paris likely to dictate terms in Prix Messidor
Moonwalk In Paris is likely to dominate proceedings in the Prix Messidor (Group 3) at Maisons-laffitte in France on Sunday, July 8, 2012. A cash prize of £33,333 has been set for the important event.
A little overnight rain has made the conditions good to soft in the 1 mile race, which has attracted a total of seven runners. The action is scheduled to start at 13:30 GMT and the fans will be hoping for a spectacular battle at the front.
However, the bookies will definitely be looking forward to risking a lot of bets in favour of Moonwalk In Paris, who is a quality performer and has been doing a terrific job for his team since making debut.
The four-year-old gelding will be required to put in a great effort today, as he will be up against some very good runners. He has got a decent record in the sport, as he has won four races out of nine attempts. In addition to that, he has finished runner
up on the same number of times, which means that there was only one occasion where he failed to finish amongst the top two.
The J-C Rouget’s trainee debuted in 2011 and took part in six races that year. His performances were pretty much impressive, as he managed to win a couple of events back then.
In his first ever outing, the French runner was given a starting price of 53 to 10 and he looked in a decent shape. He displayed a very good speed and gave a tough time to his rivals. However, he had to settle for the runner up spot in the end by just half
a length.
Just after one race, the young gelding brought up his maiden victory in the sport by only a neck distance. The competition was quite a close one back then, but he managed to keep his nose ahead of others.
The 2012 season has also turned out to be a good one for Moonwalk In Paris, as he has won a couple of times this year out of three attempts. He finished runner up in his most recent run, which shows that he is carrying a decent momentum. His partner today
will be Christophe Soumillon.
