Moonwalk In Paris to dominate the Prix Edmond Blanc-Top 14 Orange at Saint-Cloud
Prix Edmond Blanc-Top 14 Orange (Group 3) will take place today, 1st April, 2012, at Saint-Cloud. The 1 mile race holds a purse worth £33,333, which the seven runners will be competing for.
Moonwalk In Paris is the leading competitor for this race.
The four-year-old gelding will compete against
Zinabaa,
No Risk At All,
Quentindemontargis,
Celebrissime,
Sandy’s Charm, and
Evaporation.
The son of Oratorio, out of mare Shining Glory, is currently on a hat-trick. Under the training of J-C Rouget, the gelding has been performing brilliantly.
He bagged a victory in the Prix De Roiville (Conditions)(3YO)(Fibresand) at Deauville on 16th December, 2011.
He was mounted by Johan Victoire and finished 9 large lengths ahead of runner-up, Glory Power.
The beginning of this season was just as grand since the young runner succeeded in the Prix Bab Al Shams Desert Resort & Spa (Conditions) at Chantilly, on 3rd March, 2012. This time he was mounted by Christophe Soumillon.
He entered as a favourite with odds of 11 to 10 and led to victory in a magnificent manner. He gained the lead on the F. Head trained Celebrissime by a marginal difference of 1 ¾ lengths.
Quentindemontargis will give Moonwalk In Paris a tough time on the track today.
The son of Enrique, out of Samarcande, started this season in a terrific manner.
After two victories, he was on a hat-trick but it was broken by a sixth place finish.
The five-year-old gelding finished first in the Prix De Bodinard under rider Sylvain Ruis at Marseille Pont-de-vivaux on 28th February, 2012.
He gained the victory by defeating Validor by 2 lengths.
The C. Boutin trained bay gelding acquired a victory in the Prix Teddy (Handicap) at Saint-Cloud on 10th March, 2012.
Under the same jockey, he triumphed over Numerologie by 1¾ lengths.
The Jan Romel owned runner faced a slight setback in the Prix De La Gascogne (Handicap) at Saint-Cloud on 20th March, 2012.
He finished sixth in a line-up of sixteen runners ridden by Ruis again. Today, he will be the mount for Ruis again.
Moonwalk In Paris looks like the victory is his today.
With his stellar performances, there is nothing standing between him and the victory.
Quentindemontargis is likely to finish closely behind him as a runner-up, and may very well as pose a challenge.
