Moped first dies at full throttle, then dies at mid-throttle?

Got my 50cc moped up and running after if sat out about 1 year. Cleaned carburetor (didn't seem very bad at all), changed fluids, new spark plug, changed fuel filter and gas line. After all that I got it running. It sounds good idleing and it will stay running without a problem. However, when I give it some gas, it will run from anywhere between 5 seconds to 30 seconds, and then it will lose some power for a second or two and then cut out completely. I'll start it up again right away and do the same thing but it seems to die even faster every subsequent time. After the 4th or 5th time, it will get to the point where I'll be giving it full throttle but it won't even get up to mid-power before it dies after only a few seconds. When I let it sit for a day or two and try the whole process over, the whole cycle repeats itself. I cleaned the carburetor out pretty well, so I'm not so sure that's a problem. Air filter looks good. Tried making more lean&rich...no real difference. Help!
